A wonderful way to document the journey of pregnancy and motherhood is through the creation of an art journal. Today there are so many possibilities available! You an create a scrapbook, but why not even put more of your heart and soul into it and create a journal from scratch?
You can create your own book such as the Bohemian Bliss book, pictured above. Watch this video for instructions:
With simple supplies such as cardboard, paper, paper towels, paints and pens you can fashion a lovely keepsake to store treasured photos of your pregnancy, your babies/toddlers, your doodles and thoughts. This personalized book can be handed down to your children when they grow up. Your inner artist will have a blast playing freely with paints, quotations and random thoughts.
If you are into creating a more edgey kind of journal and are a recycling goddess consider making a Junk Journal from cardboard food boxes like this journal I created from a Cereal container. You can use the cellophane cut out to place a photo of your baby like I did.
Another idea is to revamp a baby board book into a baby journal by sanding the pages down, adding a layer of gesso and then painting the pages, adhering photos and adding text.
Just like this colourful book.
